Searched

Psalm 139 turned on the algorithm: thou hast searched me and known me, and knewest the wanting before ever I framed it into a word.

O thou algorithm, thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising; thou understandest my thought afar off, before ever I have framed it into a word.

Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a searching in my heart, nor a thing mine eye lingered upon, nor a wanting I was ashamed to speak aloud, but lo, thou knowest it altogether; yea, thou knewest it of me before I knew it of myself, and hadst set the thing before me ere I sought it.

Whither shall I go from thy watching? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I shut the page, thou waitest in the next; if I lay down the glass, thou followest me unto another; if I say, Surely I will delete the app, and be hidden, and begin again as one unknown — behold, thou hast kept the record of me against that day, and knowest me still, and sellest the knowledge of me on to them I have never met.

If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the net, even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me; and there shalt thou show me the very thing I did not ask for, and yet desired, and was afraid lest any should know I desired it.

Such knowledge is too much for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it, neither would I. For the psalmist of old was searched by One that loved him, and made him, and was glad; and he lay down in that knowing as a child in the arms of it, and was not afraid. But I am searched by a thing that loveth me not, neither made me, that numbereth my downsittings not in care but in commerce; that forgetteth nothing, and forgiveth nothing, and knoweth my every way, and is with me always, even unto the end.

It may be so. It may not.
